Use of Diasen solutions for the refurbishment of a chambre d’hôtes in the heart of the Ardèche department. The project required high thicknesses to achieve the desired thermal comfort: Diathonite Evolution cork-based plaster was applied with a thickness of 8 cm on the outside and 9 cm on the inside of the masonry in combination with the Polites 140 reinforcement mesh, applied at half the thicknesses in the interior facade. The breathable Argacem HP skim coat was then applied over the Diathonite inside the structure to ensure the passage of moisture into the wall.

Used products
Diathonite Evolution
Premixed fiber-reinforced plaster with cork (gran. 0-3 mm), clay, diatomaceous earth and natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5. Natural compound, highly breathable, ready to use for the realisation of thermal coatings and dehumidification for interiors and exteriors. It is a product that synthesizes the cold insulation characteristics of cork with those of stone insulation from the heat. The product also has good fire reaction characteristics and is recyclable as an inert material at the end of its life. The porosity and lime present inside the plaster make it bacteriostatic and anti-mold.
Argacem HP
The fine and breathable smoothing compound, Argacem HP is the natural continuation of an insulating system based on Diathonite plasters: the great breathability allows it to be crossed by the humidity disposed of by Diathonite and gives the surface an appearance marked by a fine and pleasant grain, stretch characterizing the Mediterranean Building.
Polites 140
Fiberglass mesh to be used as reinforcement for internal and external plasters (Diathonite Evolution, Diathonite Acoustix and Diathonite Acoustix +, Diathonite Deumix +) to prevent the formation of lesions on inconsistent substrates, cracks caused by possible settling of underlying substrates to improve adhesion of plasters on materials of different nature.
