Paço dos Henriques is a historic Portuguese building in the village of Alcáçovas in the municipality of Viana do Alentejo. The palace is considered one of the most important monuments in the region and has been classified as a property of public interest. This important building was the official residence of the Portuguese royal family in the 14th century.
Thanks to the use of Diathonite Evolution , the cork-based dehumidifying plaster applied to the internal and external walls and ceilings of the structure, the historic building has returned to its original splendor after years of neglect.
Diathonite Evolution was used to create high thicknesses in order to fill the numerous irregularities of the masonry. The material was then coated with a layer of Argacem HP , to obtain perfectly smooth surfaces, Argacem Ultrafine was applied. Finally, Lime Paint (internally) and Acrilid (externally) were applied to finish the surface.

Used products
Diathonite Evolution
Eco-friendly natural premixed plaster, cement-free, formulated with pure natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5, cork, clay, diatomaceous earth and reinforcing fibers.
Argacem HP
Argacem HP is the natural continuation of an insulating system based on Diathonite plasters: the great breathability allows it to be crossed by the humidity disposed of by Diathonite and gives the surface an appearance marked by a fine and pleasant grain, a characteristic feature of Mediterranean Building.
Argacem Ultrafine
Specific extra-fine finishing skim coat for finishing base plasters to obtain perfectly smooth specular white surfaces. Preferably to be used for internal applications, however it is also good for external applications.
D20
Water-based acrylic resin primer to be used mainly on new plasters to improve adhesion and durability of the colored finish to be applied later.
Limepaint
Highly opaque and breathable liquid water-based paint, lime-based, to be used as a finish for interior walls and ceilings. Ideal solution for finishing plasters made with Diathonite.
Acrilid Protect Coating
The product is designed to finish thermo-acoustic plasters of the Diathonite line, as it prevents the absorption of rainwater by the masonry. The finish is able to avoid the carbonation of the cement by atmospheric agents. Ideal product for saline areas.
