La Habana Vieja is a municipality in the Cuban capital of Havana and is also one of the oldest areas of the city. Everything in this area is well preserved, so much so that in 1982 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, Havana Vieja is one of the most touristic areas of the city due to the presence of churches, fortresses and other restored historic buildings.
The technical pillars of the intervention
The Hotel Santa Isabel was for years a dwelling abandoned to itself and to the elements, until it was renovated with the Diasen solutions, which made it possible to definitively solve the enormous humidity problems of ascents that plagued the walls, improving the quality of the indoor air and also acting as a regulator of relative humidity.
Diathonite Deumix⁺ is the protagonist solution of this magnificent restoration project which has also made it possible to renovate many of the more complex architectural works, such as the arches and cross vaults of some rooms, giving new life to the splendid historic residence. The cycle of solutions was then completed with Argacem HP, thermal and breathable lime-based smoothing compound, specially designed for Diathonite plasters and Limepaint ecological paint.

CLASS A1
Classified in class A1 according to UNI EN ISO 13501-1. No flame generation and no smoke emission.
The intervention was carried out by acting only in the internal part of the structure, as required by the strict rules for renovations on historic buildings. The plaster Diathonite Deumix⁺ was applied entirely to the ceiling and wall using a plastering machine.
